“Original Art to Wear” hand-painted earrings and pendants are created by laminating two pieces of artist-quality paper. I usually use one sheet of smooth TerraSkin art paper, which is an eco-friendly paper created with 75% rock and marble dust and 25% non-toxic resin. The second sheet of paper is 100% cotton rag watercolour paper that feels great to the touch and provides a strong substrate for the jewelry to grow from.

The next step is to paint the two sides of the laminated substrate with artist-quality acrylic and watercolour paints, and add a bit of gold or silver leaf or a bit of detail. I then cut the earrings into shapes that accent the colourful designs, turning the painted paper into a gem that accentuates every emotion you choose to express.

Finally, I coat the earrings with clear medium to protect them and add shine.

The earring wires are made from colourful hypoallergenic Niobium, which cares for your ears by being nickel free. The ear wires are guaranteed to provide a comfortable earring-wearing experience or your money back! They’re coloured through the anodization process, which passes electricity through the wire causing it to change into a rainbow of colours.

My “Original Art to Wear” earrings can handle moisture and rain, but please remove them if you’re under water most of the day.
